Our journey to Phoenix is part of the ongoing story of Clune traveling to fulfill our client’s needs. Our strong track record of client satisfaction has not only attracted business from across the nation but has particularly strengthened our presence in the Southwest, especially within our Mission Critical division.

The city’s burgeoning data center construction market is among one of the fastest-growing in the United States. The demand for data center infrastructure, driven by the rise of cloud-based technology and artificial intelligence (AI), has provided a fertile ground for Clune’s expertise as a Mission Critical contractor.

Phoenix’s dynamic growth and increasing population were also key factors in our choice to officially put down roots. The city’s status as a business hub for national clients, including law firms, financial institutions and hospitality clients, allowed us to solidify a strong presence in a short period of time.

Putting Down Roots in the Valley

In less than two years in the Phoenix market, Clune has completed or is in the process of completing the following:

• 51 megawatts (MW) of data center construction and fit-out projects
• 95,000 square-feet of Mission Critical secure build projects encompassing ICD 705 (SCIF) accommodations
• 340,000 square-feet of structural building improvements and base building construction
• 10+ tenant improvement and hospitality projects totaling over 300,000 square-feet

Notable projects include a 40,000 square-foot build-out for leading insurance provider AMWINS, a 33,000 square-foot build-out for renewable energy leader AREVON, multiple primary care facilities, and the highly anticipated Barstool Scottsdale Sports Bar completed by Clune last winter. Our ability to turn over successful projects that are under budget, and on time while exceeding client expectations has contributed to the office’s rapid and organic growth.

Clune’s expansion in the area can also be attributed to our ability to build strong relationships and partnerships with local subcontractors. While our relationship with national partners has accelerated our learning curve, establishing trust with local trades has been a journey. Clune’s culture has also been instrumental in establishing strong connections with subcontractors in the region. These inroads can also be credited to the addition of knowledgeable staff, who are originally from the Phoenix area.
